AICESIS BOARD MEETING

By decision of the General Assembly of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) held on November 6, 2024 in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, the Social and Economic Council of the Republic of Serbia was entrusted with the organization of the next meeting of the Board of the Association. The meeting will be held on April 8, 2024 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belgrade with the presence of 18 Board members organized on a continental basis in the current two-year mandate:

Europe - Serbia, Monaco, Romania, Greece, Luxembourg, France;

Latin America and the Caribbean - Curacao, Aruba, Guatemala;

Eurasia, Asia and the Middle East - China, South Korea, Russia;.

Africa - Benin, Ivory Coast, Mali, Senegal, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa (UCESA);
 
The Social and Economic Council of the Republic of Serbia has been a member of AICESIS since 2018, and since 2019 it has been a member of the Board of the Association from Europe, unanimously supported by all AICESIS members in the three previous two-year mandates.
 
On the first day of the event, April 7, 2024, the International Conference "25 Years of Social Dialogue in the Republic of Serbia" will be held,, in which representatives of AICESIS Board member organizations, representatives of economic and social councils with which the Social and Economic Council of the Republic of Serbia has signed bilateral agreements on mutual understanding and cooperation (the Russian Federation and Greece, which will already participate in the work as members of the AICESIS Board, the Economic and Social Council of the Republika Srpska, the Social Council of Montenegro and the National Economic and Social Council of Hungary) will participate. The topics to be discussed at the two panel discussions will be agreed upon in due course within the Social and Economic Council of the Republic of Serbia. The Conference will also be attended by representatives of organizations that participate in the work of the Social and Economic Council, the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia, the United Branch Trade Unions "Nezavisnost" and the Employers' Union of Serbia, as well as members of the academic community, experts on individual issues that will be discussed at the conference.
 
The entire program is supported by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs.
